Jesus Christ: Ultimate Hero

Statue of Jesus Christ, Public Domain Image
I've alluded to it in my other previous posts. But have not clearly stated it until now. The ICON of all ICONS that cannot be compared to, our LARGER than LIFE personality (in truth he cannot even be described as such) is none other than Jesus Christ. In a world full of pop stars and heroes, Jesus is the Man who started it all.
And below is one of my favorite quotes from the Bible written over 2,000 years ago and predicts what would happened to humankind in the last days, which I would say applies to the 20th and 21st century. This is a clear warning of many modern day cults and the soul enslaving deceptions they teach today. Read it carefully and ponder it's teachings. I pray that the reader realizes this an accepts God's free gift of salvation without any strings attached [italics mine].

Letter from Paul to 1 Timothy 4:1-15

1 Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will turn away from the faith by paying attention to deceitful spirits and demonic instructions
2
through the hypocrisy of liars with branded consciences.
3
They forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
4
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected when received with thanksgiving,
5
for it is made holy by the invocation of God in prayer.
6
If you will give these instructions to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound teaching you have followed.
7
Avoid profane and silly myths. Train yourself for devotion,
8
for, while physical training is of limited value, devotion is valuable in every respect, since it holds a promise of life both for the present and for the future.
9
This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.
10
For this we toil and struggle, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the savior of all, especially of those who believe.
11
Command and teach these things.
12
Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.
13
Until I arrive, attend to the reading, exhortation, and teaching.
14
Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word with the imposition of hands of the presbyterate.
15
Be diligent in these matters, be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to everyone.
16
Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.
AMEN

Obama Rama

Barack Obama at his Inauguration, White House, Public Domain
Barack Obama has risen to fame faster than any one else in American history. Plus he is African-American. Who would have thought? All the racists in America must be rolling on the floor like rabid dogs because (finally) a black man is poised to become president of the good old USA. It is a historic victory of monumental proportions. If he does become El Jefe, I hope and pray it is for the best of this country.

There is one thing however that I don't personally agree with him. If he claims to be a Christian then why does he support abortions? I guess this is the same question one can ask of a Republican. If they consider themselves Christians, why do they love to send people to war to kill people and have our soldiers be killed? Complete and total contradictions. Most disturbing however is how the American public doesn't really ask the in-dept questions. American thinking continues to be very superficial. If the Republicans oppose abortions then they should create programs to help the disenfranchised to prevent abortions in the first place. That is why I have never trusted any politician. They are all corrupt and use the Bible and Jesus Christ for their own personal gain.

Unfortunately, Obama himself has become a Jesus type. Some of his supporters want to lick the ground he walks on. That my friends is called idol worshiping, like it or not. But this is a blog that presents "Larger than Life" personalities. With one big difference, you are not being asked to idolize anyone except of course the Creator. He is the true "Jefe".
